LaQuet Sharnell began her dance training at the late age of 14 in Dallas,Texas. To make up for lost time she attended the Booker T. Washington HSPVA. At the school she had intense training in ballet, modern, African, and compositional studies as a member of the Advanced Repertory company.

Dancing at her school was not enough she received additional training in jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, and contemporary dance at The Dallas Powerhouse of Dance and The Centre for Dance. While in HS she received numerous awards from New York City Dance Alliance (National Outstanding Dancer Finalist), Company Dance (National Teaching Assistant), Jacobs Pillow (Scholarship Recipient), Broadway Theatre Project (Scholarship Recipient and Showcase Soloist) and the National Foundation for the Arts (Honorable Mention Modern Dance, Merit Award Jazz Dance).

Upon graduation from the Arts HS she went to train at the North Carolina School of the Arts. After only a year there she was able to accomplish her dream of becoming a professional dancer/singer/actor.

Since her move to NYC she’s been seen on Broadway/National Tour: Lysistrata Jones, Memphis The Musical, Lion King, Sweet Charity (Helene U/S perf), Regional: Make Mine Manhattan, Candide (New York City Opera), The Wiz (Dorothy), Aint Misbehavin (Charlaine), Princess-A New Musical, Chicago, Footloose (Wendy Jo U/S Rusty), AIDA, Nights on Broadway III( Vocal Swing), Shrek- The Musical( NY Workshop) Television/Film: As the World Turns( Hair Stylist), Step Up 3( Tango Dancer). Industrials: Mary Kay, Viacom, and Bloomberg Enterprises.

In addition to her professional credits she is an in-demand master teacher, having taught master classes around the country in Jazz, Theater, Lyrical, Modern dance, Vocal Technique, and Acting Workshops.
