Rob Meure

Rob Meure

Grammy-winning lyricist

As an impressionable youngster, ROB MEURER (lyrics) saw The Beatles on Ed Sullivan and that, as they say, was that.  After umpteen years of playing bars and proms throughout south Texas, Rob and old friend Christopher Cross created (with producer Michael Omartian) Cross’ landmark 1980 Grammy-sweeping debut album, which featured Rob’s arranging and keyboard skills on the #1 hit “Sailing,” “Ride Like The Wind,” and others.  After several Cross world tours, Rob served as Music Director on a number of television projects, most notably Shelley Duvall’s celebrated Showtime series, Faerie Tale Theatre, and Billy Crystal HBO specials.  Rob has also performed on international concert tours with J.D. Souther and Karla Bonoff, and has worked in some capacity with Van Dyke Parks, Jennifer Warnes, Johnny Otis, and Carole King.  He has thrice been cited for excellence by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.  For more information than you’d ever want to know about him, visit robmeurer.com.
